When Dr. Marcellus (Marc) Markway was about 11 years old, his uncle suggested that he become a veterinarian because he always wanted to work with animals. From there; that seed sprouted.
He attended the University of Missouri; graduating in 1971. He was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and the Ag Club.
After graduating from veterinary school, he practiced in St. Thomas, Missouri from 1971-1981 in general practice. From 1981-1995 he worked an equine and livestock auction from his home; and from 1996 to the present he runs a mixed practice of small animals and equine at his Markway Veterinary Service in Eldon, Missouri.
His awards have been the successes with patients and the gratitude of his clients, as well as the respect of his colleagues. He has held various committee chairmanships and memberships over the years.
He has been married to his wife Betty for 46 years who has been in practice with him his entire career. They have three children.
Dr. Markway was nominated to the Missouri Veterinary Honor Roll by Dr. Gregory Popp of Weathered Rock Veterinarian Clinic in Jefferson City, Missouri.
