As a child, Dr. Lux spent many summers on his grandparent’s farm near Crowley, Louisiana. After watching the local veterinarian test the cattle for “Bang’s Disease,” he decided he wanted to become a veterinarian.
Dr. Lux graduated from veterinary school in 1982 from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He was employed by Dr. John Adams at Spanish Lake Animal Hospital until 1987. He then was employed by Dr. Rick Kircher at South County Veterinary Office until 1991. In September of 1991 Dr. Lux opened Mackenzie Pointe Animal Hospital in Shrewsbury, Missouri where he is a solo practitioner.
Dr. Lux has been past president of the Parish Council and the Board of Education at St. Dominic Savio Catholic Church/School. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, past president of the Greater St. Louis Veterinary Medical Association, a former delegate from the GSLVMA to the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association and past member of the MVMA Executive Board. He is currently chairman of the MVMA Scope of Practice committee.
Dr. Lux and his wife Janice were married in 1982. They have a daughter, Amanda Wissmann (husband Erik) and three sons: Justin (wife Mindy), Brad and Brett.
