Burton Schauf

    Dr. Burton Schauf graduated from Kansas State University in 1981.  He was a member of the Student Charter of the AVMA.  His first clinic that he practiced was in St. Mary's Kansas, then he moved on the Horton Animal Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, and lastly the Pet Center LTD in Columbia before his retirement.

    In 2009 hw was awarded the Dean's Impact Award; in 2013 he was on the AVMA Council on Education College of Veterinarian Medicine site accredidation visit; sat on the Gentle Doctor Benefit Advisory Board, and the MVMA PR Committee.

    He has retired enjoying his grandsons, biking, running and working in the yard.

    He has been married to his wife Colette, has a son and two grandsons.

    Bruce Baker, his business partner nominated him to the Honor Roll.  His mentor Dale Martin, DVM taught him gengleness and compassion.  His other mentor, Lester Reschly, DVM taught him calmness and to not take life too seriously.  His parents taught him love of, care for, and respect of others.
