Dr. Darrell C. Payne was born 2-14-36 on a farm near Russellville, MO.  He attended the University of Missouri and received a BS Degree in Agriculture in 1959 and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 1961.  On graduation day, June 6, 1961, he was united in marriage to Carol Kincaid.  They are the parents of Rhonda Gore and family of Louisville, KY and Craig Payne, DVM and family of Clark, MO.  He spent two years in the United States Air Force, a short period practicing in Salem, MO, one year practicing in Lee’s Summit, MO, and then in 1965 joined a mixed practice with Drs. C.W. Monsees and R.A. Linsenbardt at Sedalia Veterinary Center, Sedalia, MO where they practiced together for 18 years.  After Dr. Monsees left the practice, Dr. Payne and Dr. Linsenbardt remained together for another 10 years until Dr. Linsenbardt’s retirement in 1993.  Dr. Payne managed the practice for another 10 years, retiring in 2003, while working with several veterinarians including his son, Dr. Craig Payne.

At the State level, Dr. Payne has served as:

President of West Central District 1971 and 2006

Served on Executive Board of MVMA

Committee Chairman Livestock Auction Market and Regulatory Committee of the MVMA

Member MVMA Advisory Committee to the College of Veterinary Medicine, U of MO

Chairman MVMA Food Animal Task Force Committee to the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, U of MO

Member Advisory Committee to the Diagnostic Laboratory, College of Veterinary Medicine, U  of MO

Served on Admission Committee of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine 2008-2013.

Currently serving on the Advisory Committee of the Missouri Department of Agriculture Student Loan Program appointed by Gov. Matt Blunt in 2008

At the National level, Dr. Payne served as:

Executive Board Member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners representing District 7 (Missouri, Kansas, & Oklahoma) 1993-1999

Dr. Payne is also:

A Charter member (2002) and Deacon of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Sedalia, MO

A Charter member (1968) of the State Fair Community College Basketball Booster Club

Member of the Missouri Baptist Convention Executive Board, 2001-2008 and 2013-2015
