Dr. Philip R. Brown was born in Wurzburg, Germany, and has resided abroad as well as in the U.S. After graduation from the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Missouri, he served as a captain in the U.S. Army and spent two years in the pathology program at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center. He practiced emergency medicine and did relief veterinary medical work in Denver before relocating to Springfield.
Dr. Brown operated ANEM Pet Emergency Hospital, one of the first dedicated emergency facilities in Missouri. He later was involved with other veterinary medical facilities in southwest Missouri. After several years of mixed animal practice, he now limits his practice to small animals at the Animal Care Center in Springfield.
Dr. Brown has been married to his wife, Gloria, for 37 years. They have three children: Kalyn, who graduated from Ozarks Technical Community College of Springfield; Jonathan, a college soccer player, who is majoring in business; and Jannifer, a freshman at Cox College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
Dr. Brown’s veterinary facility is an accredited American Animal Hospital Association hospital committed to the highest standards of veterinary care. As an AAHA hospital, the best health care available is offered because of practice philosophy and the association’s standards.
