Charles Barry

  • City:Warrensburg
  • State:MO
  • Biography:

Dr. Barry grew up in Missouri living in several smaller agriculture oriented communities, California, Marshall, and Milan before moving to the larger suburban area of Mehlville, MO. With the family farm operations, his father as a business operations manager, and his mother’s career as an educator: livestock, pets, business, and education were always key foundations in his experience during his youth.

Dr. Barry graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.S. in Agriculture in 1984 and with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Aiming toward becoming a veterinarian since fifth grade, he has always had a gentle love for people and animals. In 1997, after a decade in mixed animal private practice working at Warrensburg Animal Hospital, he and his wife opened Lifetime Animal Center and began his mission of “caring for all God’s creatures.”

Lifetime Animal Center continued the business format of a mixed animal, general practice for the next few decades. Over time, client demand grew dramatically for companion animal services transitioning the practice format to a predominately companion animal practice. In 2018 the clinic moved from the 30' x 40' house that served as the original vet clinic to a new 5800 square foot hospital that dramatically improved the hospital service capabilities for patients and clients.

Dr. Barry and his wife, Denise, have four children, Madison, Mason, Miles and Maxwell. The family enjoys several pets including the family dogs Marley and Bentley, the cat crew of Max, Griffon, Larry, and Lambert, and three horses: Sierra, Sophie and Prince as well as a small cattle herd. Dr. Barry enjoys family activities, hunting, fishing, camping and pretty much anything outdoors

In his spare time Dr. Barry is active in the community with Grover Park Baptist Church, Rotary International, the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce.  A former BSA Troop Commissioner and Troop Scoutmaster,  he is currently a Committee Member for BSA Troop 513.  He has served as Vice President, President-Elect, President, and Chairman of the Board of the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association and is a past President of the Missouri Academy of Veterinary Practitioners. He has also previously served as Chairman of the Board for the Missouri Veterinary Medical Licensing Board. Dr. Barry is currently the MVMA alternate delegate to the AVMA.
