James Farrell

    Dr. James K. Farrell began a general practice in Boonville MO in 1952.  He graduated in the first class from the new University of Missouri-College of Veterinary Medicine in 1950. 

    Dr. Farrell was named the Veterinarian of the Year by the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association in 1969. 

    Dr. Farrell was a member of the following:   American Veterinary Medical Association, Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, Missouri Veterinary Medical Alumni Association, and West Central Veterinary Medical Association.  He served on many committees and programs in all of the above-mentioned associations and was President of each with the exception of the American Veterinary Medical Association. 

    Dr. Farrell was active in his community in 4H programs, Lions Club, County Angus Association, Masonic Bodies, PTA, Chamber of Commerce, county fairs and his church. 

    As President of the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association in 1958, Dr. Farrell was very active in promoting meetings and conferences with the feed industry on animal nutrition.  He carried out active animal nutrition programs in cooperation with the Midwest Feed Manufacturers Association.

    Dr. Farrell, his wife and two sons lived on a farm in Boonville and raised Angus cattle.
