A son of Dr. Albert and Mattie O. Downing Glover, Dr. Albert D. Glover married Elva Mildred Haselwood of Knox City, Missouri, June 9, 1934 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Dr. Glover graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.S. in Agriculture in 1932 and from Colorado State College, School of Veterinary Medicine at Fort Collins, Colorado in 1936.
He began his veterinary practice working along side his father, also a veterinarian, and then as a meat inspector in New York City and St. Louis.
In 1939 he began his large animal practice in Canton. He was an Army Veteran of World War II serving with the PAC Artillery division from 1942 to 1946 as a Captain in the South Pacific.
He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church of Canton, The Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, The American Veterinary Medical Association, Otto Bruner Post 170 of the American Legion of Canton, Craft Lodge #287 A.F. & A.M. of Canton, Moolah Shrine of St. Louis and the Mississippi Valley Antique Car Club.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, entertaining friends at his cabins on the Mississippi River at Fenway Landing and at his farm at Newark, collecting antique cars, hunting, fishing, and photography.

Dr. Glover is a 3rd generation veterinarian. He was an honorary member of the Veterinary/Journalism fraternity and served as President of the Jr. AVMA until his graduation in 1936. He was instrumental in putting the Veterinary Practice Act into correct language. Dr. Glover has also been listed under five different categories of the International Who’s Who.
