Dr. Kenneth E. White grew up in rural northeast Missouri.  His summer job working for a local veterinarian during high school and post-high school years was the deciding factor in his going to veterinary school.  He is married to wife, Ann, and they have two sons, Brad and his wife, Chris, and 3 sons; and Brian and his wife, Jen, and three children.

Dr. White received his B.S. degree in Agriculture at the University of Missouri in 1967, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri School of Veterinary Medicine in 1970.  Memorable events during his time in school were that tests were unannounced, the long study hours, nights and weekends in anatomy lab, and the close lasting friendships.

Dr. White’s first employment was at a mixed animal practice in Perryville, Missouri.  One of his earliest cases was when his wife traveled with him on a farm call.  She was excited to witness a C-section on a cow.  He told her “It will be okay, I have never done one!”  Dr. White remained at the first practice for one year and then opened his own mixed practice, Perry County Veterinary Hospital, P.C., in 1971, where he remains today. The practice remains in an older building which has been renovated and updated to meet needs over the years.

Dr. White’s most meaningful award was the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association’s Veterinarian of the Year award he received in 2005.
